Arundhati Roy Biography

Arundhati Roy is born on 24 November 1961 an Indian writer who writes in English, and an activist, focusing on issues of social justice and economic inequality. She won the Booker Prize in 1997 for his novel, God of Small Things, and has also written two screenplays and several essay collections.

Arundhati Roy was one of the contributors to the book "We Are One: A Celebration of tribal people, released in October 2009. The book explores the culture of people around the world, showing their diversity and threats to their existence. The royalties from the sale of this book goes to the indigenous rights organization Survival International.
