Alanis Nadine Morissette was born 1 June 1974. she is a Canadian singer-songwriter, producer and actor. She has won 16 Juno Awards and seven Grammy Awards. Morissette began her career in Canada, and as a teenager recorded two dance pop albums, Alanis and Now is the Time, under MCA Records Canada.
Maverick Records released Jagged Little Pill internationally in 1995. The album is expected to sell just enough for Morissette to do a follow up, but the situation changed quickly when a DJ from KROQ, an influential Los Angeles modern rock radio station began playing "You should Know", the album's first single.
Morissette's seventh studio album, the taste of entanglement, which was produced by Guy Sigsworth, was released in mid 2008. She said that in late 2008, she would embark on a North American tour, but in the meantime she would be promoting the album internationally by performing at shows and festivals and making television and radio appearances.
