Sushil Kumar Solanki was born May 26, 1983 is an Indian wrestler who won the 66 kg freestyle competition in 2010 Fila Wrestling World Championships and bronze in the men's 66 kg wrestling event at the Olympics in Beijing in 2008. He was inspired to take up wrestling by his cousin Sandeep and his father, himself a pehlwan switch. Sandeep stopped wrapping the family could only support a switch.
Kumar is currently employed by the Indian Railways as Chief Inspector Ticketing. Kumar started training at Chhatrasal Stadium akhada at age 14 Educated at theakhada of Indian pehlwans Yashvir and Ramphal, and later by Arjuna offers Satpal so Railways camp with coach Gyan Singh, endured Sushil tough training, which included sharing a mattress with a guy wrestler who share a dormitory with twenty others.
Sushil Kumar made history by winning the maiden gold medal for the country in the World Wrestling Championship in Moscow 12September 2010. He outwitted Russian giant Alan Gogaev 3-1 to win the final bout of the 66 kg men's freestyle category.
