Trivia :Former Australian and South Pacific Ballroom Champion
Multi-award-winning dancer Kym Johnson accomplished innumerable professional goals in her native Australia -- including scoring a multi-season run on Aussie version of the Dancing with the Stars program and netting the titles of Australian Ballroom Champion and Australian World Representative of Ballroom Dance. After touring the world in a production of the stage musical +Burn the Floor, the producers of the American Dancing with the Stars (on ABC) tapped Kym to join the program as a professional dancing partner to the show's celebrity contestants; her partners included talk-show host Jerry_Springer and billionaire entrepreneur Mark_Cuban, as well as pop star Joey_Fatone, with whom she came in second place during the third season as well as being one of the most popular pairings in the show's history.

As an Aussie native, Kym started learning the art of dance at the age of 3, training in all aspects of the performing arts including, singing, ballet, tap, jazz and acrobatics… at 13 she was inspired to concentrate her talent in the field of competitive ballroom dance… She then went on to be the Australian Ballroom Champion and represented Australia in the world 10 dance championships for two years running…
Kym then performed on the world tour of the modern ballroom stage show Burn the Floor and further grabbed Australia’s attention when she appeared in season’s 1-3 of hit TV show ‘Dancing With The Stars’. Kym took the dancing crown and won season 2.
In 2006, Kym came to the United States when she was asked to join the US version of the dancing show. Her first partner was talk show host Jerry Springer during Season 3, where she won the hearts of America. Her other partners include Joey Fatone, Mark Cuban, Penn Jillette and Warren Sapp. Kym has been runner up twice on USA’s ‘Dancing With The Stars’. Kym is now partnered with Donny Osmond.
It was not long before Johnson was featured in numerous TV commercials and campaigns. The demand for her curvaceous appeal increased exponentially after her seductive shoot for FHM Magazine. Other highlights of her successful career include dancing at Elton John’s 50th birthday party and appearing in the hit Australian movie Strictly Ballroom.
Kym will make her Broadway debut this Winter in New York City and will rejoin the cast of BURN THE FLOOR. She'll take the stage at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street) with her Dancing With The Stars cast mate Maksim Chmerkovskiy from Friday 27th November until January 10th 2010.
Kym has a fitness DVD out; Dancing With The Stars: Cardio Dance - this fitness DVD is the highest selling US fitness DVD of all time. There is another fitness DVD scheduled for release, December 2009. She currently resides in Los Angeles and goes back to Sydney, Australia as much as she can!
